Bristol City Leap is thrilled to announce an exciting update to the eligibility criteria for the Bright Green Homes project. Homes equipped with gas heating, including those with gas boilers, can now apply for grant funding aimed at improving energy efficiency and advancing low-carbon solutions that foster warmer and healthier living spaces.
Bright Green Homes is a collaborative initiative involving Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council, and Bath and Northeast Somerset Council. The aim is to support households throughout the South West in implementing essential energy-saving upgrades. This project empowers homeowners to reduce their energy costs while creating more comfortable and sustainable environments, thereby contributing to cleaner air for everyone.
Councillor Martin Fodor, Chair of the Environment and Sustainability Committee, said: “We are delighted to expand the Bright Green Homes initiative to include gas-heated houses. This marks a significant step forward in our commitment to improving energy efficiency and keeping people warm across our communities. This updated eligibility condition allows more households to access essential funding that will not only enhance their living conditions and reduce bills but also contribute to our city’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Together, we can create a healthier and more sustainable Bristol.”
Grant funding will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to high demand, applicants may face delays in funding distribution until the second year of the project. We strongly encourage interested households to act promptly to seize this limited opportunity.

– Cavity Wall Insulation
